Winding checks and trim rings complement and customize your rod handle. Winding checks are manufactured in a variety of materials including aluminum, vinyl and nickel silver.
Winding checks are used as a trim piece to finish a rod handle where it meets the rod blank. They are sized to match the rod blank. We offer winding checks from .200" to .800".

Fuji Metal Winding Checks

Anodized aluminum winding checks can be used as trim on split grip handles and as a traditional winding check. Red finish. Sizes .256" to .648" I.D..

FUJI KSK WINDING CHECKS WCS17

These winding checks are sized to work with the Fuji KSK 17mm split reel seats. Note: Spinning rods require 3 trim rings to finish the handle. One on each side of the fixed hood and the other in front of the barrel. Black vinyl.

VINYL HOSEL
|
|
Fishing rod hosels are similar to winding checks and used in the same applications. Bell shaped black vinyl hosels are thicker and longer than winding checks. They can be used to cover up the end of a butt wrap, imperfections in the foregrip caused by reaming and provide a nice transition on large diameter blanks etc.. Hosels stretch but how much is difficult to say. Similar to EVA foam grips, the larger the hosel, the more stretchable the hosel.
