Pacific Bay Rodsmith XL Power Rod Wrapper begins with the original Rodsmith and improves it! The Rodsmith XL features a lightweight, tubular easy to store 8 foot aluminum bed. The RW-XL is equipped with a heavy duty, self centering three jaw chuck mounted on a ball bearing main shaft. The chuck is capable of holding rod blanks from .175 inches up to 1.5 inches outside diameter. Flat face jaw attachments are provided for small diameter rod blanks. The variable speed, up to 4000 RPM wrapping motor has both foot and dial speed control. The dial control sets the coarse speed range while the foot pedal allows hands free speed control while youre wrapping. The Rodsmith includes an 11 RPM drying motor which is engaged by simply moving the drive belt from the wrapping motor to the drying motor. Ball bearing supported thread carriage includes two thread spool tensioners, thread guides and a tool magnet. Three infinitely adjustable rod supports position the rod blank on smooth padded ball bearing mounted wheels. Rod blank tension arms on the rod supports make sure the rod blank stays in place while turning.
