Berkley Vanish leader material uses fluorocarbon as its base polymer which is best known for its very close refractive index to water. A refractive index close to water means that fluorocarbon becomes virtually invisible when viewed underwater. Fluorocarbon leader material, unlike nylon leader, does not absorb any water and therefore does not lose any strength. Fluorocarbon is denser than water, so it will sink. It also has excellent abrasion resistance properties. 50 yard spool.
