Cast nets manufactured by Fitec, Betts and Ahi are well known for their high quality and performance. Netcraft stocks Betts, Fitec and Ahi cast nets in wide variety of models in sizes from 3' to 10' (6' to 24' diameter) radius.
Care for Cast Nets - Prior to using your cast net, let it soak overnight in a solution of freshwater and fabric softener. This softens and lubricates the monofilament netting and braille lines. A brand new cast net that has been tightly packed will initially perform much better after this soaking. Check your cast nets before every use and mend any cuts and rips. After use, rinse your cast nets using only freshwater and hang until the leadline is completely dry. Never hang your cast nets with the leadline off the ground. This will tighten the knots and will remove the broken-in feel. Store your cast nets in a cool, dry location. Never expose cast nets to the sun for extended periods because sunlight is harmful to the monofilament. Avoid using your cast net in areas of reefs, rocks, or other submerged objects could shorten the life of your net.
